Joe Floyd originally started Floyd Construction as a sole proprietorship in 1978. In 1985, Jim Fagan joined the team and the company became a partnership. In 1998, Jim moved to Oregon, and Joe returned to being a sole proprietor. In 2004, Floyd Construction became incorporated.

We have spent the past 32 years building our reputation as a very versatile, small construction company, providing a range of building services from affordable basic shells to high-end new homes throughout Marin and the greater Bay area. We’ve done minor bath and kitchen remodels in Fairfax, renovations in Pacific Heights and additions in Kent Woodlands. We take pride in delivering what the client wants. We work closely with homeowners to match what they want with what they want to spend.

We have a highly experienced and hardworking core of long-time employees and subcontractors ready to take on the next challenge. Working in people’s homes is a tricky balancing act. Running an efficient and professional job site balanced with keeping an open line of communication along with having a good time are our goals. During the construction process it has been our experience that many of our clients end up being counted among our friends. Our experience and positive attitude along with our willingness to make it work allow for a fulfilling experience for all — and many repeat clients.
